Visual Excellence

In putting together my photography class (that starts this Monday) I found myself in need of a break. My wife and daughters were in the den watching Pride and Prejudice, the Keira Knightley version. So, I sat down and dutifully watched this extraordinary "chick flick." Even though I had seen it several times before it is enormously impressive. Every scene, every frame is magnificent. The lighting, the framing, the posing, the camera angles are a visual feast. Watch this film as a photographer, you can learn so much. Every visual artist can learn from this. Enjoy.

Nashville & Imaging USA & Photo Tips

Gretchen just returned from Imaging USA, the Professional Photographers of America convention. Every year I come back excited and on fire after seeing so many amazing photographs, hearing some extraordinary speakers and strolling the aisles of one impressive tradeshow.

Some 7,000 professional photographers from around the country (and the world) descended on Nashville for this visual and inspirational feast. They held the event at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center complete with its lush, tropical atriumed world full of waterfalls and walkways, cafes and foliage. This image gives a very small glimpse into that enchanted world.

My plan for this year, one of many, is to offer my readers weekly updates, tips on creating better images. And, if you haven't seen our website in a while, head over to http://www.lorei.com/ , the galleries are fun to stroll through.
